COREY MC CORKLE - ROUGE

ART INSTALLATION - ANTWERP

I built the artwork "Rouge" by artist Corey Mc Corkle for the Stella lohaus gallery in Antwerp - Belgium

The base of the structure is made from wood and MDF. The main staircase and sculpture is coated with layers of foam, polyester and epoxy.

The artwork was designed and built on request of the Stella lohaus gallery. It is a manifest for socialism in its purest form and inspired by the famous Belgian architect Horta.

Corey McCorkle’s artworks engage with the cryptic and fantastical aspects of nature, philosophy and craft. McCorkle uses photography and film to document modern ruins, alternative communities and magical beliefs, while also making his own enigmatic objects and spatial interventions
